Hi everyone,
First of all .. today’s list really isn’t great. To begin there were far fewer names on the maste rlist than normal (45,000), but the quality was also lower. I have to add a ton of brandables just to pass 500 names. I think we’re hitting the Summer lull.
Anyhow .. about this week .. WOW .. that was a insanely intense week producing Page Howe’s amazing domain conference “The Domain Show”. My mind is still dizzy (and it shows a bit in today’s auction and closeout lists as I added a few weird ones .. lol).
First of all I want to apologise for missing 3 days of lists. The last time I missed a single day was early 2019, and the time before that was when I had my flood 2 years ago (that I’m still dealing with as you all know). I intended to work on the lists at night and a bit in between segments, but when you combine the fact it was a lot more intense than expected, and that I couldn’t use my massive excel spreadsheets during streaming, it became pretty much impossible.
Overall it was an amazing experience and I’m really happy Page reached out for my help .. we went through a week of crazy hell together and won! So many unexpected obstacles pop-up when you’re the first to do something .. 100x when dealing with growing tech companies that offer zero support (I’m now in a love/hate relationship with Zoom). This most certainly will not be our last collaboration. Plus now I’m the best producer of any virtual online domain conference EVER (well .. the best of one .. lol .. and even if that changes, I’ll still always be the first).
As you all know, I lost my job of 23 years 2 weeks ago (please click the links in my lists .. lol) .. it was actually less than an hour before the 2nd of my “The Domain Social’s”. So now that I’m jobless with more time on my hands, and the big conference is over, I’ve got a few really cool ideas for future projects (more details in the days and weeks ahead).
In the meantime I’m preparing for a Jumbo-Sized Edition of The Domain Social this Friday (starting an hour earlier = 3pm to 6pm Eastern) .. and yes there will be an auction this week and hopefully a few more fun surprises. I’m not 100% sure if this will be the last Friday I organise. But rest assured that if Mike does not restart his, I’ll continue to keep the fun going on Fridays. Either way I have an idea or two brewing in my mind for a different day, and .. well .. I won’t spoil the surprise! 😉
